Right out of grad school, I worked at a private agency providing mental health therapy to adults, teens, and children experiencing a myriad of issues related to life stressors, as well as emotional and family problems. I also provided mental health assessments, diagnosed clients, and developed treatment plans for other therapists to use. After my agency work, I worked as a school counselor for an elementary school for three years. I have a lot of experience helping individuals of all ages and I love working with all ages. I haven't focused on only one particular area of specialty though I feel well equipped to help individuals with all types of issues and difficulties. I tend to gravitate toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy since it can effectively help so many people. I've had several careers prior to becoming a therapist and I have had a lot of life experience, which has brought me, dare I say, wisdom! My own experiences and the difficulties I've faced personally has allowed me to fine tune my abilities to help others. I care about my clients, very much.
