I work with my client as a team-member, learning from you about your needs and narratives, and collaborating on reasonable approaches to solving or managing difficulties. I've been in private practice full time since 1988-2013. As of August, 2013, I teach full time in graduate Counselor Education at the University of Montevallo, and see existing or previous clients at my practice with a some exceptions as office hours permit. My practice serves adults suffering from relationship difficulties, fears about how others or situations can be hurtful, and sadness about past experiences or losses. I provide support for grief and loss, contextual relational dynamics, and recovery from traumatic situations. My practice is friendly for both straight and gay persons. In addition to providing counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, and families, I facilitate several groups in the area, and also provide training and consultation to agencies and organizations, including the focus on clinical supervision topics and in suicide prevention.
