It's no surprise that a good fit with a therapist involves finding someone you feel is easy to talk with. Research is conclusive: there is no treatment modality more important than this self-evident truth. Difficult conversations are eased by being understood in this way. In a twenty year professional commitment to psychotherapy and education, I've found that it's possible to find new understandings in old situations and to develop new techniques for responding to life's slings and arrows. I believe those choices are available to everyone.
