I believe that individuals strive to be their best self but can be negatively influenced by their internal and external environments. This influence leads to the development of unhealthy habits/patterns. In therapy I will assist you in identifying these patterns and teach you ways to replace them with healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. My post-doctoral training is in geriatrics, including assessment and diagnosis of neurocognitive disorders such as dementia. Other experiences include working with diverse adult populations and with diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and mood disorders as well as with transitional issues (e.g., grief, divorce, other life changes). Therapy is a great way to deal with overwhelming things that happen in your life and it works as long as you are willing to come to appointments on time, be open and honest and be willing to try out new behaviors or ways of thinking outside of your appointments.
