As a psychotherapist I find it helpful to look at symptoms as signs that something in life needs to change-- that old habits, choices, or ways of coping no longer bring satisfaction or relief. Therapy explores new paths, new ways of viewing yourself or others, and provides support and direction in making changes. I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over 20 years and have had extensive training in a number of disciplines: general counseling skills, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, substance abuse/dependence, and couples therapy. In a less formal way I have studied with cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien, who has combined the wisdom and teachings of indigenous peoples throughout the world into the spiritual practices of The Fourfold Way.I use many of her principles and practices in my personal life and in my work. My office is centrally located between Minneapolis and St Paul and is easy to reach. It is on a quiet, residential street with ample parking. I offer a safe and comfortable environment in which to work.
