I have over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults addressing many issues including grief and loss, trauma, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, phobias, attention deficit disorders, oppositional defiant disorders, Asperger's disorder, stress related issues and self-esteem. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings (residential, in-home services, alternative education, partial hospitalization). I use an integrative and holistic approach to counseling. My techniques include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based, Person-Centered Therapy and Reality Therapy to address the diverse needs of clients. I incorporate meditation and relaxation strategies into therapy as appropriate. Christian counseling is available as requested. My approach to therapy is that clients posses the internal and external resources to draw upon in order to help them develop solutions to their problems. Using client's strengths, the therapeutic process becomes more of a collaborative process that leads to more sustainable change.
