I am a traditionally trained psychiatrist practicing for over 20 years. During this time I became disappointed with modern psychiatry's reliance on the use of medications. I do recognize their usefulness for stabilizing overwhelming symptoms, but I would much rather help patients face symptoms than to medicate them. To do this I use a combination of mind and body techniques, tailored to each patient's individual character and designed to help them overcome symptoms such as anxiety, depression, boredom and frustration. I realize that sharing your problem with another person, even a doctor, is not easy. Shame, guilt, fear or embarrassment may keep you from getting the help you need, so I emphasize the importance of developing an open and trusting relationship with you so that you will feel safe expressing what you truly think . In my office, who you are is more important than your disease. Some problems cannot be treated in an outpatient setting, but if you have integrity, if you are sick of being stuck in self-destructive behaviors, or if you still believe that there is more to life, then we may work well together.
