As so many of us have felt the effects of some form of trauma, I work to create an open, affirming environment where clients feel safe sharing their unique stories, strengths and challenges, without fear of judgment. In my 11-plus years of experience treating adolescents, adults, couples and families, clients have described my style as warm, down to earth and flexible. I draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy models, mindfulness, Adlerian, and other strength-based approaches, to treat an array of disorders including anxiety, depression, as well as issues of trauma, and relationship struggles. I am also fluent in Spanish. One of my passions is working in the LGBT community on gender and sexual identity issues. Shame and guilt are often prevalent forces. Having grown up as a minority in a strict religion, I feel equipped to help clients navigate self-doubt issues and forge a path to self-acceptance. As your counselor I will work to help you recognize your true nature as a resilient being, while also challenging old thinking patterns that may no longer be helpful. "The real voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
