Many people with brain injury (traumatic brain injury, concussion, stroke, anoxia -lack of oxygen, tumor, post infection, etc.) struggle to find a therapist who understands the special circumstances of coping with brain injury. For over 30 years I have helped people respond to loss, grief, depression, anger, etc. My approach emphasizes self worth, providing reassurance and problem solving. My style is warm, inviting, and open to help you feel empowered in dealing with your health. My approach is cognitive behavioral, based in new ways of thinking and self determination. I provide counseling for response to disability and life changes. I have a specialty in brain injury (counseling and neuropsychological evaluation of memory, attention, and thinking). Being hesitant to engage in counseling in light of brain injury is common, but my approach, being supportive and accessible can provide a sense of normalcy.
