My favorite clients are women who are stressed or anxious, who want to find a better balance in their lives and learn skills and insights to be more peaceful and calm and able to adapt to stress. Clients often find me who have been anxious, fatigued, not sleeping well and may have had some panic attacks. They are often going through stressful changes like relationship problems, work stress, divorce, or grief. Many have had trauma or dysfunctional families in childhood and often they want to be able to provide a healthier environment and healthier parenting for their own children. I enjoy teaching stress management skills like mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I often treat trauma, particularly developmental trauma like sexual abuse, and I am certified in EMDR. I also have worked for many years with children and adolescents, particularly with quite young children as a Registered Play Therapist. I used to limited my practice to treating young children, often sexually abused children and children with ADHD, as I built my reputation as an expert in child therapy. I still see children and adolescents in family therapy or individually as part of my practice and have a play therapy room.
