To me, a therapist is best viewed as a 'facilitator' who encourages people to identify and make positive changes in their life. There are several key themes or values that I try to promote in my work: promoting a greater sense of independence, self-agency, and individual expression; achieving a greater balance with thinking and behavior; and developing a greater openness to experiences and expanding interests. I believe the two most important qualities that one can have in facing struggles and challenges are hope (believing in the possibility for improvement) and perseverance (not giving up when there's a setback).
