I bring a diverse approach to my counseling practice due to an experiential base that is varied. As a counselor, I utilize not only multiple therapeutic methodologies, but life engaging experiences as a teacher, wife, mother, counselee, and counselor. I have worked with Albert Ellis (rational-emotive therapy), and completed two Masters degrees, Vermont College and The University of Dayton. I also have worked with children, teens and their families at The Wellington School, Maryhaven, the Gahanna Mayors court, the Department of Youth Services, state of Ohio and Columbus Public Schools. Adults, couples and marital counseling are offered, additionally My specialty is developing rapport with clients who are resistant to counseling. I also am comfortable with finding a mutual level of communication with clients, and believe I have a facility with engaging clients so that trust is shared and therapy occurs, especially with teens, couples and families. I like to treat each client as a unique individual. My approach is eclectic, vs. "one size fits all" therapy. My clients tell me what their needs are, and we work together. My philosophy is that mutual respect is two ways. This philosophy guides the therapeutic relationships I encounter.
