Have you experienced trauma, abuse or neglect in your life? Have you been through traditional talk therapy and found it helpful, but unable to truly change your relationship to your pain? Are you interested in a dynamic form of healing, that listens to the wisdom of the physical body and helps to integrate body, thoughts and feelings into your healing? Somatic therapies are becoming more mainstream as they are meant to integrate the wounded self with the "going on with everyday living" self, thus causing healing and creating lasting change. I've studied trauma, attachment, and the body for years, completing Janina Fisher's year-long series on trauma and attachment. I'm starting the level 2 series, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy level 1 training. I finish in Spring of 2015, becoming one of two practitioners in KY with this training! Therapy can be healing, helpful, challenging and painful. I want to work with clients who have experienced pain that they are no longer willing to carry.
