I offer children, adolescents, adults and family units the opportunity to work through challenging life situations through the creation of a therapeutic alliance. The client and I create collaborative goals and we work together in a partnership to achieve them. Through active listening, motivational interviewing and other therapeutic techniques, I provide a supportive environment in which the client feels empowered to confront personal challenges and develop the skills and confidence to manage them in daily life. I have helped individuals learn to manage anger, anxiety, and depression. My early experience as a medical social worker included work in a hospital environment supporting patients who were confronting challenges due to injuries, illness or long-term chronic pain. I have also worked with individuals who are learning to manage grief, loss and bereavement. I am currently being supervised by Dr. Holly Counts, PsyD of Life Transformations, LLC as required by the State of Vermont.
