The philosophy that "addiction is a mask for looking for the divine in all the wrong places" resonates strongly with me and is reflected in my work. My experience has proven that problems cannot usually be resolved at the same level they occur. Empowering an individual to see themselves without judgment or reproach creates an atmosphere of trust in oneself and the ability to grow out of pain and be open to being all you can be. My work in addiction treatment has spanned more than 20 years, and has intersected with often closely related issues around domestic violence and problem gambling. Working with women as they transition through middle age and beyond is a particular interest of mine. I also enjoy facilitating groups and workshops for women or mixed groups. My training in transpersonal psychology fosters a holistic approach. I use family systems and techniques like genograms, role playing, art therapy, doll making, and sand tray to provide insight
