About Desert Cove Recovery Desert Cove Recovery Center is an extended care facility in Scottsdale Arizona. Our goal is to provide holistic, patient-centered care, based on the person's individual needs. We also offer intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment in a safe, nurturing, educational environment. DCR is an abstinence-based program that embraces the disease concept of addiction. At Desert Cove we offer a continuum of care beyond the traditional 30-day treatment model as well as offer solutions to those who struggle with chronic relapse.. Our overarching purpose is to provide a safe, therapeutic, nurturing environment with a variety of therapeutic experiences that allow individuals to find their path to long term growth and recovery. Our Holistic Treatment Philosophy Desert Cove Recovery believes in a holistic treatment program. The program treats much more than drug and alcohol addictions. We you, the person. We have learned from many years of treating addiction that it is not enough to treat the body alone - we have to treat the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Our holistic treatment program is set in an intimate setting, with a limited availability, making this an exclusive program for those who are serious about getting help for long-term sobriety. We take addiction treatment very seriously. One cannot be expected to heal fully without addressing all the areas of one's life that have been affected by addiction. We remove the addict from the old environment in order to show how life has to change in order to overcome addiction. We want to eliminate the connections to places, people, and things that are associated with the addiction, reduce distractions, and allow the individual to focus completely on the treatment. This involves a three-part approach that addresses physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Although addiction has common characteristics associated with it, we understand that each individual is unique and thus addiction treatment should be so also. What to Expect in Extended Care Individual Therapy Sessions: As you strive to understand fully and incorporate the treatments you have been taught in your extended care stay, you will be provided the opportunity to meet with your therapist for individual sessions. This time is imperative for individual growth and will help you fully embrace the new you. Small Group Therapy Sessions: By continuing your group therapy sessions, you will be participating in a gender specific small groups along with groups involving the whole community. This continuum of care offers you a familiar group treatment program to practice and share the work you have already done. Relapse Prevention: Beyond individual and group therapy, your extended care program will provide you with a specialized course that specifically focuses on relapse prevention. During your relapse care and prevention program, you will learn to make a connection to your spirituality by applying 12 step principles in all aspects of the life you will be returning to. Transition Process: As you prepare to leave extended care, you will meet with one of our aftercare therapists to help coordinate life after Desert Cove Recovery, including Desert Cove After-Care and sober living options.
