When asked why I'm a clinician, I share a short story. I grew up with the message "don't feel, don't tell and never disagree." The net result was low self-esteem, not knowing my needs or speaking my truth. With competent counseling I changed negative self-talk, learned communication skills, set boundaries and gained tools to engage healthy conflict. No longer a victim, I had the power of choice. Now a counselor for 20+ years, I weave together evidence based research with spiritual practices that are powerful allies toward healing and wholeness. Utilizing cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices, you will learn skills to lower stress, regulate emotions, elevate mood and set boundaries. Accepting ourselves and letting go of shame, we have confidence to make new choices. If you struggle with grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD or sexual abuse, I can help you. I'm a self-pay therapist with a sliding fee scale. I purposely do not participate on insurance panels out of concern for client confidentiality. However, most clients can submit my invoice to their insurance netowork and receive reimbursement at out-of-network rates (50%-65%).
