Gifted Children | Creative Adults. It may come as a surprise to some, but if you are gifted or have a gifted child school and work can be difficult. Gifted persons often experience a range of symptoms like distractibility, perfectionism, anxiety, difficulty in social situations and depression. Stress can keep you from operating at your highest potential and interfere with your creative process. People are often concerned that medications will effect their thinking and performance, Psychotherapy provides a safe and effective alternative that actually supports intellectual development and creative process. Creative. Intelligent. Therapy. I offer classical in-depth psychotherapy which focuses not on changing immediate behaviors, but creating lasting change. This type of work is best suited for children who have a higher intellectual capacity, but are held back by emotional reactivity. I also incorporate theory from modern neuroscience to provide comprehensive care. My treatment utilizes a variety of different mediums selected to enhance each individuals natural mode of expression. By utilizing talk, play and art therapies each child or adult has the opportunity to make themselves heard and be understood. I also provide school consultations and community speaking engagements.
