I offer sensitive listening informed by broad experience and good diagnostic skills. Being heard is basic for anyone to heal. My willingness to respond openly is what people seem to trust beyond my considerable experience. For me to encourage someone to undergo pain and take risks in trying new behavior to change, a client and I have to develop a collaborative partnership based upon mutual respect and appreciation. Also my dry sense of humor seems to help to keep things in perspective. I use ego psychology, family systems and Adlerian theory. I work with children and adolescents in family. I also enjoy working with individual and couples. I have realized that my treatment approach is DBT with mindfulness model. I address interpersonal relationships, developing a tolerance for distress and strengthening emotional regulation. My experience includes working with all age groups in schools, in Child Welfare, in clinics, in home settings with teens and elders, and in my current private practice. Anyone can become stuck in any stage of life's transitions. I believe life provides everyone with difficult and challenging lessons.
