The difficulties and challenges of our lives involving our families, relationships, work, school, and health may leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed. People come to see me because they are at an impasse and need help. For over 25 years, I have provided psychotherapy and counseling. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, gain insight into problems, and understand obstacles that interfer with personal growth. I focus on the whole person and support people in developing new ways of coping, improving emotional well-being, and implementing meaningful change. Helping people process grief and complicated grief is my primary specialty. Grief arises from the loss of a loved one. Consequently, secondary losses arise, such as changes in family relationships, finances, and residences. Complicated grief develops from unplanned and unexpected changes and disappointments in childhood, marriage, work, school, and health. With psychotherapy the stressors of everyday life may be alleviated, one's sense of well-being and connection with others may improve, and one's self-understanding may be enhanced. Over time, a successful counseling experience may also lead to a greater sense of freedom and fulfillment personally and professionally.
