Through my training and experience working in New York City with underserved communities, I appreciate and understand the social complexity of stress, crisis and illness. I work with every individual to understand their unique circumstances and experiences. My professional experience is wide ranging and includes work with people suffering from major mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, and addictions; helping immigrant families adjust to life in the US and ensuring refugee families have their basic needs met; assisting queer families through adoptions, supporting individuals with a gender transition, and working with youth, particularly homeless LGBTQ youth. My approach depends on each individual and their stated goals and desired outcomes. I frequently use an eclectic approach of combined treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic approaches. I am also skilled at mindfulness-based practices and often incorporate writing and/or creative practices into my work. Promotion of clarity, healing, and insight is a guiding principle in my practice. I will spend time with you to identify and formulate specific goals and desired outcomes. I provide a safe, confidential space, free of judgment, and I work with individuals and families of all ages.
