I specialize in working with children and families dealing with relational difficulties, divorce, adoption, foster care, physical and sexual abuse trauma, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, postpartum issues, self-esteem, school challenges, and parenting/ discipline. I use a variety of tools in my practice including talk therapy, expressive arts, play, and sand tray. Counseling is a collaborative process and varies based on individual needs. Thorough assessment and consideration of multiple factors (including: current situation, past experiences, developmental functioning, and family attitudes) is important in developing a treatment plan. I'd be happy to discuss my theoretical orientation, training, and experience with you further. I am qualified to work with insurance companies for reimbursement and offer a set number of reduced fee slots for those with limited resources. I offer a free thirty minute initial face to face consultation to see if we are a good therapeutic fit.
