As a psychotherapist and contemporary psychoanalyst, I will help you deal with your concerns and distress through greater understanding of what goes on inside of you. We will listen to and work with your feelings, dreams, fantasies, sadness, fears, hopes and desires with compassion and insight. During the past thirty years, I have helped adults, teenagers and children create a safe space in therapy based on trust and respect to develop a sturdier sense of self, have more satisfying relationships, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and access what was previously out of awareness that can now inform daily life. My psychoanalytic training makes it possible to respectfully offer you a wide range of options for therapy. I help us read between the lines, not rely on fixed, preconceived ideas, and help you expand your self "knowing" and increase your tolerance for emotional experience through our therapeutic encounters and relationship. My own personal work in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis motivated me to actively seek a career that is challenging, creative and growth producing. I know from both sides of the process that facing our darker sides with a trusted other can lead to a life more fully lived.
